Platform Fixed Operations Director – Automotive Dealership Group

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Platform Fixed Operations Director to oversee and elevate the performance of Fixed Operations across a multi-store dealership group. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving daily operations while also planning and executing on long-term growth strategies.

Each store under this platform has a strong foundation—union shops with good CSI, dedicated Parts and Service Managers, and solid technician teams. We're looking for someone who can take that foundation and build on it with operational rigor, reporting discipline, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily Fixed Operations across multiple rooftops, ensuring each Parts and Service Department is optimized for growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and develop team members, including setting performance goals, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Set and achieve financial targets, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Directly manage and support Service Managers and Parts Managers at each location.
  • Build and maintain strong processes and SOPs to drive consistency and maximize efficiency in all stores.
  • Ensure strong CSI is maintained and improved; elevate the customer experience beyond “good” to truly exceptional.
  • Ensure technicians are maximizing MPIs, following scripts, and presenting credible, trust-building recommendations to customers.
  • Train and coach lower-performing advisors and help instill a high-performance culture across all levels.
  • Manage and implement dynamic scheduling models (e.g., 4x10 shifts, split shifts, etc) to improve shop throughput and technician satisfaction.
  • Support and improve parts operations, including understanding automatic replenishment systems and managing return credits effectively.
  • Embrace and implement technology and analytics tools to streamline operations and improve visibility.
  • Be proactive with the "whip list" — catching issues before they affect operations.
  • Stay on top of industry trends that can improve business, including new technologies
  • Address any escalated customer concerns
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations
  • Other duties as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in a multi-store leadership role within the fixed operations department of a dealership group
  • Proven track record of both strategic planning and hands-on implementation.
  • Strong reporting and analytical mindset.
  • Deep understanding of customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Comfortable working in urban environments – must be solution-oriented and capable of developing processes that account for space or logistical constraints (e.g., parking, traffic).
  • While union experience is not required, you must be open to learning and navigating union shop dynamics. (It’s a major recruiting advantage for techs and includes excellent benefits.)
  • Passion for process improvement, team development, and consistent execution.

Compensation:

  • Competitive compensation package based on experience and performance. Compensation will be in the $450,000 - $525,000 range to start with significant room for growth.
  • Full benefits package provided
