Plant Safety and Environmental Leader

We are seeking a dedicated Plant Safety and Environmental Leader to drive, develop, and oversee our EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) programs at our manufacturing facility. This crucial role will focus on implementing strategies that ensure a safe working environment, uphold environmental compliance, and guarantee that our operations adhere to all regulatory requirements. You will be the sole safety professional for the plant, responsible for proactive prevention, meticulous investigation, and strategic improvements to promote a culture of safety and compliance at all levels.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and measures tailored to our operational needs.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into workplace accidents and devise clear, actionable plans to prevent recurrences.
  • Deploy safety performance metrics to track progress and areas needing improvement.
  • Lead site-wide training initiatives that focus on heightening safety awareness and compliance amongst all staff members.
  • Conduct root cause analyses following incidents to understand underlying reasons and systemic solutions.
  • Ensure environmental compliance related to spray booths, water runoff, and hazardous materials management.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture advocating for continuous improvement and compliance at the plant.
  • Interact effectively with all team levels to communicate safety protocols and updates, fostering a cooperative environment oriented towards safety and efficiency.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • At least two years of plant-level EHS experience, predominantly in safety roles.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing safety and/or environmental programs within a plant setting.
  • Able to engage and motivate teams toward achieving compliance and safety goals through effective communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and the ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements.
  • Local to the job location or capable of commuting efficiently as remote work is not available.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Occupational safety, or similar.
  • Previous leadership role within safety management in a manufacturing or plant setting.
  • Experience with environmental compliance frameworks, particularly concerning air quality, water treatment, and chemical storage.

  • Strong leadership qualities, able to advocate and lead safety initiatives.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments and enforce necessary safety measures effectively.
