Plant Manager
Job Description
We are working with a beverage contract manufacturer to help them identify a Plant Manager to lead operations at a Grade A Dairy-certified beverage manufacturing facility in Wisconsin. This state-of-the-art plant specializes in bottling and canning for retort and aseptic beverages.
We are looking for a leader with a strong engineering or maintenance background who is ready to round out their career in plant operations. The ideal candidate will bring a technical mindset, hands-on leadership style, and experience in retort processing to optimize production in a high-growth, 24/7 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily plant operations, overseeing 200+ employees across production, maintenance, quality, and material handling.
- Directly manage two Superintendents, with four additional Supervisors reporting indirectly.
- Drive operational efficiency, ensuring production meets safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Implement best practices in sanitation, maintenance, and production scheduling to optimize throughput.
- Support the facility’s continued growth and innovation.
- Champion a continuous improvement culture, addressing operational challenges and fostering a high-performing team.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Engineering or Maintenance Background – Prior leadership in maintenance/engineering with a desire to transition into operations.
- Retort Experience – Required; aseptic or ESL processing experience is a plus.
- Strong People Leader – Proven ability to manage and develop teams in a high-volume, high-growth manufacturing environment.
- Problem-Solving Mindset – Comfortable working through startup-phase challenges while improving operational performance.
- Degree Preferred – Bachelor's in Engineering, Operations, or related field is ideal.
