Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing for one of the largest makers of bread and specialty baked goods and products in the Midwest. They have over 900 associates in multiple productions facilities. Markets and sells 60 products in 8 of the industry’s major product categories.
This position is responsible for all facets of the daily operation in the bakery manufacturing facility. Ensuing the consistent production of a high-quality product in a bread and roll facility while incorporating safety and sanitation standards. Very strong organizational, leadership and planning skills, with previous work involving a unionized workforce and professional union correspondence. Is accountable for production, maintenance, and sanitation department results. Review, schedule, plan, and direct all operations of said departments in a safe yet efficient manner. Communicate, review, and correct plant performance metrics daily within a specified time frame to the Director of Manufacturing. Responsible for controlling spending and monitoring and approving expenses. Running to budget and maintaining standards. Has 15 direct reports and a total of 175 employees on the team over 200K Sq Ft.

Background Required:
  • Plant Operations role with progressive responsibilities in Food Manufacturing environment (5 years)

  • Achieve compliance with applicable regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, EPA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Analyze data generated for downtime and efficiencies to minimize and eliminate lost time, inefficiencies
  • Staff hiring, management (evaluate, review, discipline), motivation, training, and development
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Residence: Ohio (Relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Manufacturing in Food Manufacturing, Baking Industry (strongly preferred)
  • Union negotiation
