Plant Maintenance Manager

The Plant Maintenance Manager is a crucial role within the manufacturing facility, tasked with overseeing all plant equipment operations. This leadership position is responsible for developing, implementing, and enhancing the process control systems to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, demonstrate excellent managerial capabilities, and uphold safety standards while fostering a proactive maintenance culture.

Salary: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and initiate preventive maintenance programs to minimize costs and enhance the longevity of production equipment.
  • Execute assignments related to the maintenance of machinery and equipment, ensuring high reliability and performance.
  • Plan and manage the relocation, dismantling, or removal of obsolete or worn-out machinery and equipment.
  • Design and implement performance maintenance strategies based on equipment usage data and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Develop key supplier relationships and maintain optimal spare part inventories for quick response to equipment failures.
  • Effectively schedule maintenance work to maximize machine utilization and minimize idle time.
  • Fairly distribute overtime among maintenance staff and manage workload to prevent burnout.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and impact to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Enhance the skills and effectiveness of maintenance personnel through targeted training and development programs.
  • Lead safety and policy training sessions to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively troubleshoot production equipment issues to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Oversee the maintenance database to manage all preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Continuously seek ways to reduce costs associated with plant utilities without compromising quality or safety.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing plant maintenance, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of machine components, mechanical systems, and integration.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a mechanical aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a plant maintenance environment.
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications related to plant management or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems and predictive maintenance technologies.
