The person in this position is primarily responsible for Plant Engineering including capital projects, process optimization and equipment reliability at the Goderich Evaporation Plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following: Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)
Project engineering and management.
Manage small to medium capital projects from development to implementation.
Develop strategies to implement equipment reliability through Reliable Asset Management (RAM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
Develop ideas to improve profitability through cost savings and new opportunities.
Support the development and analysis of the annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and strategic plans.
Manage Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) Activities
Demonstrate strong planning skills in relation to new projects
Maintain/Update Capital Expenditure Tracking Spreadsheets for monthly reporting purposes.
Ability to develop relationships with other departments at the site.
Ability to fairly negotiate technically related terms and conditions with Suppliers/Contractors and maintain a positive relationship.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
4-10 years’ experience in manufacturing.
At least 3-5 years experience managing capital projects involving cross functional teams.
At least 2 years in leading equipment/process reliability programs.
Demonstrated Leadership in continuous improvement initiatives.
P. Eng Certification
Previous experience in a heavy continuous process industry
