Plant Electrical Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning and implementation of turnarounds and major engineering projects and support the project leader in all phases of major capital projects
- Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing, conducting research programs, and applying knowledge of electricity and materials
- Provide technical support/ troubleshooting for the plant instrument and electrical equipment
- Assist in the preparation of maintenance and capital budgets; and handling capital projects
- Perform analysis of power flow, voltage drop modeling, fault current calculations, load balancing, protective devices
- Provide solutions to recurring maintenance problems by analyzing delays and failure analyses
- Confirm system and component capabilities by designing testing methods and testing properties
- Lead the implementation of technical improvements and the application of spare parts and materials to extend life and prevent equipment deterioration
- Identify and interface with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants
- Develop, maintain and update maintenance documentation (e.g. Repair reports, bill of materials, upgrade recommendations) for critical plant equipment)
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate of electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or apprenticeship with 2 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, design, or power distribution maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate of electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or apprenticeship with 4 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, design, or power distribution maintenance
- Bachelor of electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology with 2 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, design, or power distribution maintenance
