Plant Controller
Position Overview
The Plant Controller plays a critical role in safeguarding the financial assets of the organization by directing the plant’s financial operations and ensuring all transactions comply with legal and regulatory standards. As a key member of the leadership team, this position supports daily business operations and strategic decision-making through financial insight, reporting, and control. This role is fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Oversight

Serve as the primary financial leader within the plant, reporting directly to the General Manager.

Oversee all plant-level accounting and finance functions

Manage daily financial operations including banking transactions, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow management, and general ledger activities.

Lead month-end (3 days) and year-end (October) closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Analyze and report on operational and financial performance, including KPIs, budget variances, productivity, and margin trends.

Identify and communicate major cost drivers and business risks/opportunities.
Team Management
- plan to grow with the organization from from 13 million in revenue to 20 million in the next 3 years
promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.
Internal Controls & Process Optimization

Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.

Standardize and improve reporting processes and financial documentation, including monthly operations review materials.

Maintain accurate inventory accounting and support costing activities for internally produced parts.
Business Partnership & Strategic Support

Support the budgeting and forecasting process; identify areas for improvement and efficiency.

Provide financial analysis and support for capital expenditure proposals and operational decisions.

Deliver ad-hoc financial reports and deep-dive analysis as needed for internal stakeholders, including the General Manager, Vice President, and Board of Directors.

Assist in preparing for quarterly board meetings and monthly management reviews.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance.

Professional designation (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred but not required
-
5+ years of senior financial management experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

Previous supervisory experience is required.
Must be able to pass a criminal and credit background check
Skills & Competencies

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability.

Expertise in financial analysis, cost accounting, and internal controls.

Proficient in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.

Advanced Excel and ERP system knowledge; ability to interpret and use plant operating systems effectively.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

High level of initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
