Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at the plant level and partner closely with operations leadership. This hybrid role in Staunton, VA is ideal for a hands‑on finance professional who understands plant environments, cost control, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant‑level accounting and financial operations
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities
• Prepare and analyze plant financial statements and performance reports
• Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
• Partner with plant leadership to support operational and financial decision‑making
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and plant spending
• Analyze labor, material, overhead, and production‑related costs
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Support internal and external audits
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and financial performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience in a plant or operations environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and plant financials
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production operations preferred
• Proven ability to partner with plant and operations leadership
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• CPA or CMA preferred but not required
