JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Sales & Operations (S&OP) Planner is responsible for adhering the S&OP process, planning/purchasing/distribution of finished goods inventory and component materials, within specific factories, in accordance with company strategy and market requirements. The S&OP Planner will work along with key members of a Global Supply Chain Team with the overall goal of being a value-added business unit within Trelleborg Wheel Systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Planning, preparing, and executing Purchase and Distribution Orders or inventory purchased/transferred from multiple internal & external suppliers. Manage inventory in line with Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) and Latest Estimate Forecasts (LEF)
  • Manage inventory levels at the item level across the distribution centers within the United States, Canada and Mexico, with assistance from S&OP Analyst
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external suppliers in multiple countries/regions to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Utilize Planning models in ERP system and MS Excel
  • Manage Planning Parameters in ERP system, including safety stock levels, forecasts and supply lead time
  • Manage Pricing Parameters in ERP system, update price agreements, and work with finance in the costing process and analysis of PPV issues. Assist the S&OP Senior Planner and finance department to set the annual standard costs.
  • Execute and Communicate Purchase Orders with vendors
  • Communicate and resolve with warehouses, finance department and suppliers of any inventory or invoice discrepancies.
  • Create warehouse container delivery reports and maintain updates of inventory shipment status within the ERP System.
  • In conjunction with transportation department, obtain expedited freight quotes according to the air freight policy approval process. Follow and distribute shipping instructions to meet freight model targets
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance metrics including quality, lead time, price and on-time delivery
  • Analysis of business trends, changes in customer-level demand, and market/product segment targets that drive replenishment planning for the North American Distribution Network
  • Work with S&OP Director, the Central Planning team, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service Business Units on forecasting market trends, customer requirements, and phase-in/phase-out projects.
  • Participate in the S&OP meeting with internal teams on business trends and change in demand process.
  • Co-lead the S&OP Stock-Evo process with Central Planning Team. Create Item Gap Analysis models to illustrate over consumption or a shortage of product by customer or market
  • Analyze the monthly sales forecast vs. actual results within assigned factories and provide proposals of target adjustments.
  • Perform long-range replenishment plans based on seasonality requirements, planning parameters, and production constraints of suppliers
  • Analyze financial impact of forecasts and material plans and advise of concerns to overall company targets or budgets and alert organization to supply issues such as constraints, excess inventory, shortages, or quality concerns
  • Identify strategies and present proposals aimed at reducing excess inventories, increasing product quality, and decreasing costs
  • Tableau reporting

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Business Management or Supply Chain Management and 2-3 years of Supply Chain Planning experience; or 3-4 years of experience in an operational role with responsibilities in planning, budgeting, or forecasting. Candidate must be willing to seek additional training as needed.

  • Strong analytical skills & reporting
  • Experience in MRP and or DRP
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Planning experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience using Infor M3 – preferred
  • Experience with Tableau Reporting – or other reporting software
