Physician Assistant or NP Cardio Cardiac Surgery

The hospital’s physicians and staff provide emergency services, offer inpatient and outpatient care, and specialize in cardiovascular interventions, surgical services, inpatient physical rehabilitation and obstetrics. The hospital campus is home to the only open-heart surgery program in the County and offers advanced treatments such as TAVR, a minimally invasive treatment for patients with diseased heart valves.

They have an exciting opportunity for either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work in our cardiovascular/cardiac surgery department. The APP will assist in OR and inpatient rounding coverage for Cardiac Surgery in the Northwest region. The APP will be expected to help with managing test results for ambulatory clinic. Some management of ICU patients with the surgeon and intensivist will be required. The PA will also be reviewing EPIC in-baskets for patients results and patient management of pre-operative patients, and could have the occasional ask to see a patient in the ambulatory clinic for a post-op visit.

Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in clinical area. Provides direct clinical care to patients. Prescribes/orders medications, therapies; orders/interprets laboratory tests, x-rays and procedures according to clinical privileges. Evaluates patients to determine their need for further health care.

Shift: Days, M-F, with rotating weekends; on-call required, approximately every 3rd day and every 3rd weekend; call will be evenings after rounding until 7am the next morning.
