Job Description

Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Primary Care

Full-Time Direct Hire $138,000–$195,000 Sign-On Bonus Relocation Assistance California

A great primary care practice, in a pretty great place to live.

We're looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a respected primary care practice in the California mountains.

This is the kind of opportunity that offers a nice balance: a supportive medical team, a good degree of clinical independence, meaningful patient relationships, and a community where you can actually get to know the people you care for.

If you're looking for a change from the pace and pressure of a larger practice, this could be a refreshing next step.

The Opportunity

As a Primary Care PA/NP, you'll provide care for a diverse patient population across the lifespan. You'll see a mix of routine wellness visits, preventive care, acute illnesses, chronic disease management, and follow-up care.

You'll work with a supportive Medical Director and healthcare team while having the independence to use your own clinical judgment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan

  • Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic conditions

  • Performing histories and physical examinations

  • Managing chronic diseases and ongoing health conditions

  • Providing preventive care, wellness visits, and health education

  • Ordering, reviewing, and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic testing

  • Developing individualized treatment plans

  • Prescribing medications and treatments within your scope of practice

  • Coordinating care with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

  • Building long-term relationships with patients and families

  • Participating in quality improvement and clinic development initiatives

You'll have plenty of independence in your day-to-day practice, with physician collaboration and support when you need it.

Compensation & Benefits

$138,000–$195,000 annually, depending on experience

The position also includes:

  • Sign-on bonus

  • Relocation assistance

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) or 403(b) with employer contribution

  • Generous PTO

  • Paid holidays

  • Annual CME allowance

  • Paid CME days

What You'll Bring

  • Graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

  • Active, unrestricted California PA or NP license

  • Current DEA registration

  • Current BLS certification

  • ACLS and/or PALS preferred

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to patient-centered, culturally competent care

  • Bilingual skills are a plus

A More Personal Approach to Primary Care

One of the nice things about community-based primary care is that you have the opportunity to really get to know your patients.

You may see the same families over the years. You learn their history, understand their concerns, and have the opportunity to follow their progress over time.

For a PA or NP who enjoys the relationship side of medicine, that's hard to beat.

And Yes, There's the California Mountains

The setting is part of the appeal.

When you're finished with work, you're not heading into an hour of city traffic. You're surrounded by the California mountains, fresh air, open space, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

It's a different pace—and for the right person, a very welcome one.

Why This Opportunity?

Autonomy
You have room to practice medicine using your own experience and clinical judgment.

Support
You'll work with a Medical Director and collaborative healthcare team.

Variety
You'll see a broad range of primary care needs rather than doing the same thing every day.

Relationships
There's an opportunity to know your patients and become a trusted part of their healthcare.

Lifestyle
A beautiful California mountain setting with a little more breathing room outside of work.
