Physical Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing care that helps restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. The ideal candidate will harness their knowledge of exercise science, anatomy, neurology, and physiology to provide holistic therapy care tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Salary: Dependent on Experience per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patient conditions and determine appropriate physical therapy interventions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans emphasizing realistic and achievable goals tailored to patients’ needs.
  • Implement physical therapy interventions in accordance with physician referrals and regularly review patient response to optimize recovery.
  • Administer oxygen and titrate as necessary under physician orders to maintain appropriate patient saturation levels during sessions.
  • Document patient treatment and progress comprehensively and promptly in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Communicate proactively with other healthcare teams to integrate physical therapy with overall patient care plans.
  • Provide educational guidance to patients, families, and caregivers to foster understanding of treatment plans.
  • Supervise and direct Physical Medicine Technicians, volunteers, and students, ensuring quality treatment and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Participate actively in continued education to remain current with best practices, new research, and emerging technologies in physical therapy.
  • Manage and maintain physical therapy equipment, promptly addressing any issues or defects.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current New York State license in Physical Therapy or eligibility for licensure.
  • Required BLS certification through the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience in a clinical physical therapy setting, with a proven ability to perform evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrated capability to instruct and mentor students and subordinates effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialization or continuing education in orthopedic or pediatric physical therapy.
  • Prior experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Advanced certification or training relevant to physical therapy (e.g., orthotics, neurology).
  • Skilled use of PT software programs for recording and analyzing therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to participate in department quality improvement initiatives.
