Physical Therapist
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Physical Therapist to step into a prevention-focused, non-clinical role within a large on-site employer environment. Rather than traditional outpatient rehabilitation, this position centers on ergonomics, workplace health, and proactive injury prevention.
The Physical Therapist will be fully embedded on-site, collaborating closely with the organization’s Employee Health & Safety (EHS) team and an on-site Athletic Trainer. This role is ideal for a seasoned PT seeking to expand into ergonomics, employee wellness, and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
Injury Prevention & Early Intervention
Engage directly with employees in their work areas to identify and mitigate musculoskeletal risks.
Conduct frequent walk-throughs to observe job tasks, provide real-time coaching, and build rapport with employees.
Offer OSHA-compliant first aid for minor work-related musculoskeletal concerns (e.g., conservative soft tissue techniques, kinesiology taping, non-rigid supports, ice/heat education).
Ergonomics & Workplace Assessments
Perform ergonomic evaluations of work tasks and setups to recommend improved positioning, tools, or adjustments.
Utilize ergonomic software and tools to build and implement a comprehensive ergonomics program.
Develop and deliver preventative exercise programs, stretching routines, and educational workshops.
Program Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as the on-site expert for musculoskeletal health and ergonomics.
Partner with the EHS team and leadership to implement proactive injury prevention strategies.
Work closely with the on-site Athletic Trainer to coordinate wellness and risk-reduction initiatives.
Maintain strong visibility in employee work areas to foster trust and encourage early reporting of discomfort.
Post-Offer Pre-Employment Physical Capability Testing
Develop, refine, and administer physical capability assessments aligned with essential job functions.
Manage scheduling and documentation in partnership with HR and hiring teams.
