Salary: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiates skilled physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a physician, maintaining close communication with the physician for patient updates and modifications needed.
- Documents patient evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge summaries diligently and accurately for seamless communication and record-keeping.
- Consults with other healthcare professionals to plan and evaluate team treatment plans, focusing on maximal impact for patient rehabilitation or maintenance of function.
- Contributes effectively to Resident Care Planning meetings and provides interim leadership during the absence of the Director of Physical Therapy.
- Assures thorough and accurate treatment records, statistical data, and reports to facilitate quality care and compliance.
- Engages proactively in in-service training, enhancing the rehabilitation team’s capabilities and knowledge.
- Efficiently manages physical therapy resources by submitting timely requisitions for supplies and equipment as needed.
- Assumes responsibility for all necessary management documentation and supervisory duties in the absence of the Director of Physical Therapy.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Must possess a degree from an accredited school of physical therapy.
- Valid state license to practice physical therapy in Rhode Island is required.
- At least two years of experience in a physical therapy role is preferred but not required.
- A strong interest in developing physical therapy protocols for geriatric and sub-acute populations.
- Proven ability to manage and direct staff and resources as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certifications in physical therapy or a specialty field within physical therapy.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
- Experience working in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation center.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology.
