About the Role

We’re hiring a Physical Therapist – Team Lead to join a collaborative, mission-driven therapy department within one of the largest and most respected rehabilitation systems in the country. This is an ideal next step for a clinician who’s passionate about patient outcomes, team mentorship, and operational excellence—and ready to grow into higher leadership over time.

You’ll serve as a day-to-day clinical and operational leader for a tight-knit therapy team of 25 (16 full-time therapists + 10 PRNs). You’ll balance direct patient care (roughly 50% of your time) with hands-on leadership—helping shape daily flow, coach therapists, and ensure top-tier care delivery.

We’re looking for someone who’s more than just clinically strong—you’ll need the presence and confidence to lead meetings, navigate tough conversations, and reinforce expectations while supporting the direction set by the Therapy Manager. You’ll be the go-to person on the floor, providing backup, guidance, and encouragement in real-time.

What You’ll Do:

  • Split Your Focus: Treat patients ~50% of the time while managing day-to-day operations for a team of 25 (16 full-time therapists and 10 PRNs)
  • Own the Schedule: Ensure daily staffing, patient minutes, and MODE compliance (including the 50%+ 1:1 therapy requirement). Address issues quickly in partnership with the Therapy Manager
  • Drive Daily Flow: Be the first clinical point of contact for the team and help the gym run smoothly—especially when things get busy
  • Mentor & Elevate: Observe, coach, and develop your team—whether it’s new grad support, clinical feedback, or driving evidence-based, functional care
  • Be the Bridge: Communicate clearly between staff and leadership. You’ll lead the day-to-day while reinforcing the broader vision and priorities from the Therapy Manager
  • Lead Boldly: Facilitate weekly therapy huddles, represent the department in leadership meetings, and help move initiatives from planning into action

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (TX license or eligibility required)
  • 5–8 years of experience preferred
  • Someone comfortable leading meetings, giving honest feedback, and coaching others
  • Clear communicator with a firm, approachable style
  • Long-term leadership goals: This role is ideal for someone looking to grow beyond Team Lead
  • Experience in inpatient rehab is a plus
Note: H1B Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role.
