Physical Therapist – Acute Care & Swing Bed
Full-Time Inpatient Care Nonprofit Hospital Setting
We’re hiring a full-time Physical Therapist to join a mission-driven therapy team within a nonprofit hospital. This role covers both acute care and swing bed, with a patient mix that includes debility, CHF, COPD, stroke, and post-surgical ortho cases. The facility features a recently updated ICU and modern inpatient rehab environment.
Setting Overview

Inpatient mix of Acute Care and Swing Bed

Patient population includes: Debility, COPD, CHF, Stroke, ICU

Daily caseload: 5–10 patients, depending on evaluations and treatments

Session durations: 30–45 minutes per treat/eval

Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch

Weekend rotation: PTs only — 1 in 6, on-call only, for ortho surgeries as needed
Therapy Department Structure

PTs: 5 full-time (not including DOR)

PTA: 3

OTs: 3
-
SLPs: 1 full-time + 1 PRN

DOR: 1 (PT background)

All therapists float between acute and swing bed as needed
Compensation & Benefits

$15,000 sign-on bonus

$7,500/year student loan repayment (renewable for up to 7 years)

CEU support up to $1,500/year (case by case)

License fee reimbursement

20 days PTO
What to Expect

Productivity expectation: approx. 2 units/hour — emphasis on being efficient and patient-focused

Swing bed census is typically 2–3 patients at a time

Hospital features a 6-bed ICU, fully renovated addition completed 7 years ago, ICU updated within the last year
