Physical Therapist (PT) Float (Acute / IPR / Outpatient) Birmingham, AL
Now hiring a Physical Therapist (PT) for a Float role at a nonprofit hospital in the Birmingham, AL area. Build clinical range fast by rotating across three settings: acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient.
About the role:
- Float between acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient covering for census bumps, leaves, and vacation
- Acute: full medical mix — stroke, neuro, ortho, cardiac, general medical. Therapists assigned by floor; rehab aides assist with setup and transfers
- IPR: typical IPR caseload with medical debility, ortho, and neuro emphasis; 4-5 patients per day with 60-90 minute treatment sessions
- Outpatient: hospital-affiliated clinic with General, Sports, and Neuro teams; 1-hour evals, 30-minute treatments
- Monday-Friday schedule, 8-5; light weekend rotation, ~3 shifts per quarter paid at overtime rate

What we're looking for:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) required
- AL state PT license or eligibility for licensure
- Open to new grads and PTs from other practice settings — strong mentorship in place
- Strong interdisciplinary teamwork skills
