Salary: $37,500.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in the medication distribution to patients and patient care areas.
• Prepare and compound medications, including intravenous admixtures and unit dose formulations, using aseptic technique.
• Manage medication histories and patient allergies collection from relevant sources for new patients in the Emergency Department and processing this information in the EHR.
• Communicate directly with pharmacists regarding patients with complex or high-risk medication needs.
• Maintain clerical operations within the department, including entering charges and credits for patient accounts.
• Order, receive, and stock pharmacy medications and supplies in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring inventory is well-maintained.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification from PTCB (CphT) or NHA (ExCPT).
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (4:30 PM to 5:00 AM) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays without weekend coverage.
• Proficiency in understanding and catering to the pharmaceutical needs of a diverse patient group including neonates to geriatrics.
• Possesses strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage workload.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for effective interactions with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Knowledge of Electronic Health Records systems and pharmacy information systems.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and high-pressure environments calmly and effectively.

Skills:

• Adept in various pharmaceutical operations including drug preparation, aseptic technique, and IV admixtures.
• Efficient in managing detailed and critical patient information with high accuracy.
