We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Specialty Sales Representative, based in Alexandria, VA, to drive home infusion services across multiple specialties including neurology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, immunology, and dermatology in the DC, MD, VA area. This role focuses on expanding business opportunities, executing impactful promotional and selling strategies, and liaising between the pharmacy and healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes. The successful candidate will be crucial in building and maintaining client relationships, understanding detailed pharmaceutical products, and efficiently executing sales and marketing strategies.
Salary: $110,000 – 135,000 per year plus performance-based bonuses
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive the marketing and sales of specialized medications and services in neurology, gastroenterology, dermatology, and immunology.
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships with existing clients to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
- Prospect and develop new referral sources through effective cold calling and networking.
- Design and implement promotional sales campaigns and targeted marketing strategies to boost brand visibility.
- Collaborate closely with pharmaceutical representatives to align on therapeutic class strategies.
- Facilitate communication between clients, accounts, and pharmacy operations to ensure the seamless delivery of services.
- Deliver meticulous follow-up and attention to detail in all sales and marketing initiatives.
- Support physicians in the Prior Authorization (PA) process as needed.
- Engage regularly in local travel to meet with clients and participate in relevant industry events.
- Execute additional roles required to support the overarching goals of the pharmacy.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales, medical device sales, or related healthcare industry sales roles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills capable of engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, and current healthcare industry trends.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment aimed at achieving business objectives.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in Specialty Sales or Home Infusion Pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An active book of IVIG business is highly advantageous.
- A minimum of three years of experience in external pharmaceutical sales roles with a proven sales track record.
