APN Staffing is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacy operations for a state healthcare organization. This position will assist pharmacists with prescription filling, medication repackaging, inventory management, recordkeeping, and distribution of medications and medical supplies to county health departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with filling prescriptions and dispensing medications.
• Operate pharmacy equipment, including repackaging machines and heat sealers.
• Receive, organize, track, and maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
• Prepare and complete inventory reports and requisitions.
• Ensure medications are properly separated according to 340B requirements, funding sources, and program areas.
• Assist with accurate medication pricing in the EHR.
• Type medication labels and maintain accurate records in EMR/EHR systems.
• Package and distribute completed prescriptions to County Health Departments.
• Monitor medication expiration dates and remove outdated products from inventory.
• Inspect incoming supplies for expiration dates, dosage, quantity, and compliance with requisitions.
• Assist with electronic temperature monitoring to ensure medication integrity.
• Clean and maintain pharmacy equipment and prepare standard solutions.
• Assist with pharmacy phone and email communications.
• Support inventory management, EHR-related tasks, and other pharmacy projects as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 years of pharmacy clerk/pharmacy assistant experience, OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
• Experience with inventory management and electronic health records is preferred.
