About You
- Be able to do the job as described
- Pharm.D. required
- 3 years of experience in hospital and/or ambulatory clinic pharmacy
- Hold an active, unrestricted pharmacist license (any state)
- BLS Certification (or obtained within first year)
- Completion of ASHP-accredited residency preferred
What You’ll Be Doing
- Review, verify, and fill prescriptions with clinical judgment for safety and efficacy
- Provide direct patient counseling to improve medication adherence and outcomes
- Guide providers and nurses on optimal drug therapies and formulary selection
- Lead medication therapy management and chart reviews
- Supervise and educate pharmacy technicians and students
- Participate in quality improvement projects and pharmacy-led clinics
Weather: The climate is similar to much of Southeast Alaska and Pacific Northwest coastal areas - mild winters with some snow and temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Summers are cool with temperatures that average in a high of 64 and a low of 50; though it's not uncommon to have several summer days reach the mid-70s. Wrangell gets about 80 inches of rain a year, which is less rainfall on average than most of Southeast.
