Our client is seeking a Personal Injury Lawyer to join their team.
Duties
- Oversee and manage a diverse caseload of litigation files from start to finish.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and other essential legal documents.
- Represent clients effectively in court, including handling discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trials.
- Provide strategic and timely legal advice to clients, ensuring their best interests are represented.
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships through regular communication and updates.
- Collaborate with senior lawyers and team members on complex cases, contributing to strategic planning and business development.
- Stay informed about legal developments and changes in relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury or insurance defense.
- A member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Proven experience with client management, discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trials.
- Superior communication and English writing skills.
Assets:
- Significant experience in personal injury or insurance defense litigation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of accident benefits and injury tort claims.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience working with insurance adjusters and defense lawyers.
- Proficiency in French or other languages is considered a valuable asset.
- A demonstrated ability to manage and grow an independent practice is a plus.
