SURGO is recruiting for a Personal Assistant for HOD: Human Resources to join their experienced HR team in Cape Town. The Personal Assistant to the Head of Department: Human Resources is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative/secretarial support. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Duties:
- Provide sophisticated calendar management for the Head of Human Resources
- Prioritise inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts
- Provide high level administrative support to the Head of Human Resources
- Make judgements and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements
- Act as liaison and provide support to the Head of Human Resources
- Arrange and handle all logistics for the Head of Human Resources e.g., meetings and events; schedule meetings; draft agendas; etc.
- Take meeting minutes on behalf of the Head of Human Resources
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Head of Human Resources functions
- Work closely with the Head of Human Resources to keep her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately
- Answer and respond to inquiries accurately and promptly
- React with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and event that require quick response or turnaround
- Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and act with excellent judgement
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Tertiary education in HR or related field required
- Minimum 3-5 years in PA/Secretarial - administrative or related role
- Exposure to Contact Centre environment (Advantageous)
- Excellent Microsoft Office Tools capabilities: Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
- Exposure to HR Systems (advantageous)
- Typing speed (Min. 45 WPM)
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (Read, Write, Speak)
- Own reliable transport with valid drivers license
- Clear Criminal Record
- Ability to work remote from home
- Must be resident in Cape Town
