Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Payroll Specialist to work on-site with our client, a leading logistics company in Napa, CA
This is a contract-to-hire position that will see the ideal candidate working alongside industry leading talent in a world-class environment.
Processes all garnishment payments, to include the initial review of garnishment order, calculating withholding per period, and input into ADP.
Ensures that semi-monthly payrolls are completed in accordance with applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Responsible for various payroll and management reports, workers’ compensation and 401K.
Reviews electronic time cards, verifying hours, PTO and earnings.
Respond to employees’ payroll questions.
Distributes paychecks for all locations.
AA or BS Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum of 3 years in payroll and 2 years of accounts payable experience. Multi-state payroll processing experience preferred. Ability to maintain confidential information.
Experience with full-cycle payroll including hiring, terminations, 401(k) deductions, payroll taxes, garnishments, benefit deductions, multiple state experience, knowledge of California labor laws, etc. Validates new hire information.
Strong proficiency in Word and Excel. Knowledge of ADP software is helpful.
Ability to perform diversified clerical functions.
Ability to work overtime.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
