Job Description

Flybridge Staffing is currently searching for a Payroll Specialist for a growing client in the South Florida area. This is a perm position with semi-remote work flexibility and great benefits. The Payroll Specialist will perform various payroll and HCM data management functions of the HR department. This includes benefit invoice management, multi-state payroll and tax management, and unemployment.


  • Processes payroll, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to meet all compliance requirements.
    • Analyzes, prepares, and reviews various payroll groups. Ensures accuracy of all data, deductions, tax requirements, etc., and resolves discrepancies.
    • Develops payroll analysis detailing payroll activity and provides pay audits to HR Manager within required timeframes.
  • Manages all multi-state tax reporting requirements within HCM system to facilitate appropriate contact with state and local agencies to ensure the company complies with all tax requirements.
  • Partners with Legal on garnishment administration, payroll management/entry, communications to impacted employees, and responses to appropriate garnishing authority.
  • Ensures employee separations, compensation changes, position changes, etc. are submitted timely and have appropriate authorization.
  • Monitors data input and report generation in the HCM system.
  • Provides recommendations for HCM workflow configuration and system updates related to payroll efficiencies.
  • Executes activities related to unemployment. Manages unemployment vendor relationships and oversees authorized claim responses.
  • Performs monthly benefit invoice reconciliations for all entities.
  • Prepares all year-end reporting and processing requirements. Including but not limited to all actions relative to Retirement Plan’s compliance and testing requirements and preparation of 5500, ACA, reporting (1094/1095), and FSA testing.

Education / Experience:

  • BA Degree and 4 years of Payroll experience highly preferred
  • Experience in multistate payroll processing, including tax management, off-cycle payment processing etc., is highly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations, specifically FLSA.
  • Experience with various back-end HR systems, such as HCM, ATS, L&D, etc.
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of employees, vendors, other agencies, and the public.
  • Knowledge of HCM systems such as UKG, ExponentHR, UltiPro, ADP, etc. is desired.
