Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Process biweekly payroll for all employees using ADP Workforce Now (or relevant ADP platform).

Review and validate timekeeping data, deductions, bonuses, and commissions prior to each pay run.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.

Maintain accurate payroll records, employee tax information, and direct deposit setup.

Prepare and reconcile payroll reports for Finance, HR, and external auditors as needed.

Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate new hire, termination, and status change processing.

Manage year-end activities including W-2s, 1099s, and payroll tax filings.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and leave balances with professionalism and confidentiality.

Support audits, benefits reconciliations, and other HR/Finance projects as required.
Qualifications
-
3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.

Strong working knowledge of ADP payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred).

Solid understanding of payroll best practices, tax regulations, and wage/hour laws.

High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting principles.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
