We are looking for an experienced Payroll Coordinator. The role will also support the accounting department. This would be a contract/temp role for 6 months to start. There is the possibility that this would go to direct after 6 months. Pay range is 65,000 to 70,000 annually. This position is in office in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Job Description

• Compliance with company, legal, and regulatory requirements for Health, Safety, and Environmental topics in order to foster a culture of Health & Safety.

  • Maintains and verifies employee data in timekeeping system by checking time sheets in the electronic timekeeping software for compliance with company policies; ensures timesheets are approved.

  • Maintains employee-related HRIS database(s), includes entering new hires, terminations and changes to employee information. Prepares periodic reports, as necessary or requested.

  • Reviews computed wages, corrects any errors to ensure the accuracy of payroll earnings, and oversees data as transmitted to payroll provider for processing; verifies payroll outputs via payroll audit for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy.

  • Maintains accurate payroll records and employee files, including preparation of personnel files.

  • Reconciles and processes contractor invoices and labor.

  • Handles all garnishments through payroll provider, deductions, and monitors vacation/personal time accruals.

  • Handles payroll tax updates and processes unemployment claims within ADP WFN.

  • Reviews and processes year-end payroll and balances W-2 statements.

  • Reviews and audits master file (ADP WFN) pay data entries, YTD totals, and files corrections and amendments as needed.

  • Answers inquiries regarding employment verification requests or other payroll related requests.

  • Reconciles payroll and reviews the accuracy of payroll deductions to payroll output documents (i.e. benefits system, 401(k) files).

  • Responds to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll or human resources leave matters.

  • Performs bi-weekly 401(k) reconciliation as part of payroll audit.

  • Assists in Accounting with reports and other duties as needed.
