Payroll Associate - Bedford, MA

Job description:

We're hiring a self-motivated and detailed oriented individual to join our accounting department in a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Process weekly payroll, and handle all related submissions including federal/state withholding taxes, 401(k) contributions, and garnishments.
  • Prepare and submit monthly union reports and benefits payments.
  • Assist with quarterly tax filings and year-end W-2 processing, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee data, benefits, deductions, and tax information. Respond promptly and professionally to payroll-related inquiries.
  • Prepare payroll activity reports for management as needed.
  • Support the Controller with various tasks such as month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, management and job cost reports, and audits (internal and external).
  • Collaborate with other departments and perform additional duties as assigned.

Employment Type: Full Time, Temp to Hire

Compensation: Up to $30/hour

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration or a similar role
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
