• Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures, suggesting needed changes to the executive team.

  • Serve as a liaison between the brands and Paycom, instilling confidence in payroll operations through competency and confidentiality.

  • Function as a liaison between Human Resources and Accounting, approving insurance invoices for elected benefits.

  • Work with managers to verify all timesheets are corrected as needed and approved on time.

  • Ensure proper pay code usage and tax designations.

  • Oversee child support, tax levies, and garnishment orders.

  • Process payroll when needed, including off cycles, adjustments and corrections, as necessary.

  • Verify paid and unpaid leave and balances are correctly assigned, accrued and recorded.

  • Conduct monthly insurance deduction audits, collecting premiums as invoiced.

  • Complete Department of Labor monthly statistics reports.

  • Process final paychecks, calculating proration of salary, including PTO payouts as required by state or policy.

  • Ensure commissions are backed up, approved and paid timely.

  • E-file semi-monthly payroll records.

  • Email relevant reports to accounting after each payroll and as requested.

  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll.

  • Register and maintain new tax accounts as needed.

  • May supervise Payroll Specialist as the team grows.

  • Other duties as assigned in the scope of this job.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For (Minimum qualifications)

  • 2+ years of hands-on, large-volume payroll processing experience

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience

  • Experience in Paycom is preferred.

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Professionalism exhibited in verbal and written communication

  • Highly proficient in Excel (vlookup, pivot tables)

  • Experience processing multi-state payrolls, familiar with local, state and federal taxes and payroll laws.

  • Knowledge of Canadian laws is a plus.

  • Contribute to team effort by accurately fulfilling responsibilities

  • Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills
