Our client is a multi facility medical center in CA. They are part of one of the largest, most successful and decorated health systems in the United States. It offers both community based and tertiary medical services. Their location has over 400 licensed beds is a not-for-profit and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. They have received special recognition for quality by the Joint Commission this year and won a Consumer Choice award for hospitals from the National Research Council.
They have an opening for a Patient Safety Manager to help their new Director reorganize the department and take patient safety to new heights. They candidate who may have dealt with Root Cause Analysis, data management, tracking and looking at patient safety trends looking to see where the Quality Department should be putting their focus
Position Summary:
To implement and maintain the Patient Safety Improvement Program. Under supervision of Director of Quality and Safety Management, responsible for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of best practice clinical guidelines, tools, and behaviors that maintain a high reliability safety culture for the patients, staff, and medical staff. This includes oversight of data collection, evaluation, and reporting to support safety improvement and risk reduction activities. To provide all levels of management, physicians, and clinical staff with accurate and timely information for effective decision making utilizing internal and external decision support systems in the office of Quality and Safety. To facilitate improvement activities utilizing performance improvement methodologies, and to serve as a resource to assist and train others in safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field
- CA Registered Nurse License or must obtain California RN license within 1 year of hire
- 3 years direct experience in program management in healthcare quality improvement program
- Experience leading safety/quality/clinical effectiveness initiatives with high level of independence.
- Demonstrated coaching and teaching skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Power Point and Excel, ability to format tables, retrieve data via queries, and create presentations
- Required ability to manage own time, schedule own tasks, and work efficiently without constant supervision and direction using resourcefulness, initiative, and analytic tactics.
- Analytical ability to conceptualize well in dynamic and/or multidisciplinary environments requiring analysis, foresight, intuition, and mature judgment as well as a thorough knowledge of fundamental principles and practices to find solutions.
- Must be able to travel in accordance with any requirements of your job
- Must be able to work on-call/standby and/or PM or weekend shifts
Preferred
- Masters degree in patient safety or a healthcare related field
- Lean certified
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) - upon hire
