Patent Litigation Associate for Tech Sector

AmLaw150 firm, based in Newark, NJ, is looking for a passionate Intellectual Property Associate to join our robust patent and IP litigation team. Salary: $250,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage actively in patent litigation cases, providing both strategic and tactical insight.
  • Contribute to all phases of trial preparation and execution.
  • Draft and prepare substantive motions and responses as required throughout the litigation lifecycle.
  • Work closely with tech experts and witnesses to prepare case testimonials and evidence.
  • Conduct and manage patent landscapes and prior art searches to support case strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members across the firm to ensure a comprehensive approach to client needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in IP law and related practice areas.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2-4 years of experience in patent litigation within a recognized law firm.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues.
  • Admission to practice law in the United States; NJ Bar admission preferred.
  • Experience with tech-related litigation preferred.

  • Trial experience in federal or state courts.
  • Detailed knowledge and technical expertise in various high-tech industries.
  • Exposure to international patent laws and litigation.
  • Proven record of strategic planning and successful outcomes in previous IP cases.
