Guided Search Partners (GSP)
Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on Trust, Transparency, Specialization, and Long-term Relationships.
We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a Tier 1 supplier supporting major customers with molded, painted, and assembled components. The Tennessee site is growing, and the paint value stream is expanding with new business.

To support that growth, the plant is adding two newly created roles: Paint Process Engineer (2nd Shift) and Paint Launch Engineer. Both sit in a modern operation with molding, assembly, and a state-of-the-art paint line, and both offer meaningful ownership in a high-visibility part of the plant.

Relocation is expected.

What You’ll Do

Paint Process Engineer (2nd Shift)

  • Program and troubleshoot Fanuc paint robots.

  • Monitor and improve FTQ performance on second shift.

  • Analyze KPI trends to reduce scrap and improve daily results.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts on the paint line.

  • Ensure compliance with customer paint specifications.

  • Mentor and develop second-shift paint technicians.

  • Coordinate effectively across shifts and departments.

Paint Launch Engineer

  • Lead new paint product launches with strong ownership from start to stable production.

  • Program and optimize Fanuc paint robots (bell and gun applications).

  • Partner with the APQP team to execute launch requirements and timelines.

  • Design and engineer paint racks to maximize throughput and efficiency.

  • Drive launch FTQ performance and ensure quality compliance.

  • Use KPI data to identify issues and reduce scrap.

  • Support continuous improvement tied to paint performance and launch readiness.

Who You Are

  • Strong in paint robotics and comfortable owning technical outcomes.

  • Data-minded—able to use KPIs to find issues fast and drive improvements.

  • Confident working across teams and shifts to keep quality and execution aligned.

  • Hands-on, practical, and steady when problems show up.

Preferred Experience & Attributes

Paint Process Engineer

  • Fanuc robotics paint programming experience.

  • Experience with bell and gun paint applications.

  • Knowledge of paint quality metrics and defect reduction.

Paint Launch Engineer

  • Fanuc robotics paint programming experience.

  • Experience with bell and gun paint applications.

  • Knowledge of APQP and launch protocols.

  • Knowledge of industrial paint specifications.

Nice to have (either role):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Automotive industry experience

  • Automation software experience

Why This Role Matters

Paint is where customer requirements, quality standards, and daily performance collide. These roles help ensure the paint value stream scales successfully—supporting new business, protecting FTQ, and keeping the line running predictably. You’ll be central to results as the plant grows.

  • Both roles report to: Paint Department Manager
