Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing metal products that align with the company's operational needs. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain processes, and the ability to manage inventory effectively. The Buyer will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization maintains optimal stock levels while minimizing costs.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to secure the best possible terms.
  • Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely receipt of goods.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including logistics and inventory management, to forecast demand and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Utilize ERP systems for tracking orders, managing inventory, and analyzing purchasing data.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, e-commerce developments, and changes in supply chain dynamics to optimize purchasing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Metal Materials experience in sourcing and procurement within a supply chain environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes and inventory management principles.
  • Familiarity AS400 systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong vendor relationships.
  • Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
