We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the strategic priorities of our engineering department, with a strong focus on rigid plastic packaging, sheet extrusion, injection molding, and expanded polystyrene (EPS) molding. This position will drive process engineering improvements, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production across multiple manufacturing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive process engineering initiatives to support rigid packaging, sheet extrusion, injection molding, and EPS molding production.
• Conduct process audits, performance data analysis, and corrective action implementation to optimize operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
• Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes through feasibility studies, SOP creation, and operator training.
• Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma, and Design of Experiments (DOE) to achieve continuous improvement goals.
• Establish, document, and continuously improve standard operating procedures for extrusion and molding processes.
• Provide data-driven insights and reports to management and cross-functional teams.
• Partner with production to maximize extrusion line efficiency and support smooth changeovers.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for extrusion and molding process issues, implementing long-term corrective actions.
• Assist with equipment troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance (PM).
• Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, and quality standards in all processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external experts to resolve technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in the plastics industry, with emphasis on sheet extrusion, rigid packaging, and injection molding.
• Proven background in process engineering, manufacturing operations, validation, and DOE/statistics.
• Demonstrated success in driving yield improvements, cost reduction, and SPC systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills within extrusion and rigid packaging environments.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced manufacturing settings.
