P&C Relay Technician
Key Information:
OT/DT: OT at 1.6 - Daily OT, after 8 hours/day. DT on Sundays/Holidays
Travel Requirement: Up to 80%
Pay: $30-$64/hr (Negotiable)

Location: Remote across US
Position Overview
Testing, Commissioning, Servicing, and Troubleshooting of Electrical Power Systems and Subsystems. Testing of Electro-mechanical, Numerical and Microprocessor based Protective Relays and control devices. Project managing, of retrofit, upgrade, and replacement projects for electrical controls, SCADA, DCS and Power System Protection Equipment with ability to work without supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Review technical specifications, proposals, and service requests submitted by customers or sales teams, and translate them into actionable tasks.
- Provide clear and accurate technical communication to clients and internal teams.
- Travel to customer sites to perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting, while ensuring compliance with relevant technical and safety standards (e.g., IEEE, NETA, NEMA, NEC).
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of work performed.
- Support the training and development of junior service technicians in fundamental relay protection and control systems.
Qualifications
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment DOT drug screening and physical exam.
- Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
- Must have valid driver license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work for extended periods which includes overtime, weekends and holidays with minimal notice.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
- Trade/Tech. school with 5-7 years of proven OTJ experience in Power systems Protection and controls.
- Or: Equivalent Military training plus proven OTJ experience in Power System Protection and controls.
- Or: University/College 2–4-year Engineering Technology plus related Power System Protection experience
