They have an urgent need for an outstanding PA or NP due to service line growth!
Provides urgent and non-urgent health care treatments for individuals presenting for the Urgent Care commensurate with training and in accordance with the general policies and standards of practice as defined by facility and departmental policies, medical staffing by-laws, and regulations as defined by Federal, State, and local government requirements in compliance with Medicare/Medi-Cal/CMS requirements of participation, and will be compliant with EMTALA. Will deliver care appropriate for an outpatient, primary care community health center with a multicultural patient population. Will elicit detailed patient histories and conduct complete advanced practice provider examinations, providing documentation of patient assessment and treatment to support care provided/diagnosis identified. Reaches timely diagnosis, orders appropriate testing for patient care needs, orders or provides direct patient care for patient specific needs, defines and discusses plan of care for patient including counseling of patient and family on health disease, providing appropriate discharge documentation, educational materials, prescriptions, and referrals to patients PCP for continuity of care. Engages customers in a patient centered practice, utilizing patients preferred name, being courteous and engaging by recognizing and respecting the individual diversity of every patient and the uniqueness of every patient care event. This position provides oversight for advanced care practitioners in the Urgent Care Clinic as the Lead Mid-Level Provider. Additional responsibilities include building and monitoring the practitioner schedule; performing chart audits and quality review reporting; recommend and participate in peer review; attending assigned committee meetings; and collaborate, coordinate, and communicate with the Medical Director to achieve maximum efficiency with best possible outcomes for patient care service delivery to patients presenting to the Urgent Care. Matrix Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Nursing Director and Clinical Nurse Manager of Emergency Services & Urgent Care. Secondarily reports to the Medical Director of Urgent Care Services. Oversight of medical practice is by the Medical Director.
Physician Assistants in this role must have completed a Physician Assistant training program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) in accordance with California's Physician Assistant Board is required. Master's Degree is preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Must have at least 3 years of experience working in an Urgent Care. Nurse Practitioners in this role must have completed a Nurse Practitioner academic program approved in accordance with the California Board of Nursing. Master's Degree required; DNP is preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Must have at least 3 years of experience working in an Urgent Care. If Mid-level Provider Lead is a Physician Assistant, the candidate must have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) and hold an active and unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant from the California Physician Assistant Board. Out of state candidates with a temporary license as a Physician Assistant will be considered if all other required qualifications are met. ACLS/PALS is preferred or will obtain within 6 months of date of hire.
If Mid-level Provider Lead is a Nurse Practitioner, they must hold an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license from the California Board of Nursing. Out of state candidates with a temporary license for Nurse Practitioner will be considered if all other required qualifications are met. ACLS/PALS is preferred or candidate will acquire within 6 months of date of hire.
