Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sales Manager or General Manager for a company that specializes in rigging, crating, moving, erecting, painting and storage of heavy machinery throughout Texas, United States and around the world. They pride in being the equipment movers that have consistently provided the highest quality services to a wide range of different industries. Industries they service include aerospace, automotive, food and beverage, medical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and HVAC just to name a few. They are also the primary heavy machinery movers for mechanical contractors, machine tool dealers, metal cutting, power plants and other industrial industries.
The Outside Sales/Estimator position identifies and develops bidding opportunities consistent with the company’s capabilities and strategic marketing goals. Position works with operations staff and prospective clients to define scopes of work and create pricing and schedule proposals, with a focus on work quality and project profitability. Position communicates with existing customers to generate business and actively seeks out new customers. Position actively markets all business lines of the company. Key responsibilities include: Develop strategies and tactics to penetrate targeted accounts; Create and execute an annual sales plan with defined goals and objectives; Prospect and qualify warm leads; Generate high-quality sales leads and follow up after initial meeting; Conduct discovery meetings with existing and new customers to uncover needs; Understand scope of work to bid; Create and deliver solutions and proposal presentations to customer’s decision-making team; Develop potential solutions, estimate and prepare tailored proposals; Ensure timely completion of estimates/proposals; Close sales by selling value and overcoming objections; Coordinate front-end project development with Operations team; Maintain sales log and documentation of all quotes, accepted or rejected; Identify areas for customer satisfaction improvement and repeat business and communicate those issues and possible solutions to management.

Background Required:
  • Rigging & Machinery Moving and/or Industrial Equipment experience (5 years)
  • Knowledge of rigging and industrial equipment, applications/terminology associated with rigging and millwright functions
  • Proven track record of business development results; prospecting new business and closing profitable work
  • Relationship development with decision makers within a complex sales environment
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels from field craft to executives
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management
  • Excellent communication, (verbal, written, presentations)
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Computer literate: Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Residence: Dallas, TX area (relocation assistant may be considered)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction or related field
  • Sales involving Machinery, Rigging, Industrial Equipment and/or Material Handling
  • Mechanically inclined; proven record in rigging, lifting, fabrication, maintenance or transportation execution
  • Excellent people skills; ability to partner with a dynamic team and actively participate in successful outcomes
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities
