Job Summary: As an Operations Technician, a person in this position shall executive principle responsibilities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the continuous production process in accordance with local and national regulations and standards for the Air Separation Unit. This position shall also execute preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance activities along with overseeing critical spare inventory parts. A person in this position will need to exhibit strong mechanical skill sets to be successful in this role.

  • Understand and adhere to company safe work policies, and demonstrate commitment to safety.
  • Apply the Hazardous Work Permit (HWP) process, Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) and energy isolation procedures.
  • Maintain site security and orderliness.
  • Responsible for all safety calibrations of all safeties onsite.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues throughout the plant.
  • Perform safety indoctrination for contractors.
  • Assist shutdowns, start-ups, and production changes.
  • Troubleshoot process problems to identify equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Perform water treatment tasks.
  • Document activities and data in plant logbook.
  • Direct and monitor contractors.
  • Participate in safety committee activities.
  • Complete all training activities according to schedule and meet annual performance goals.
  • Accept on call duty and overtime as required.
  • Maintain the comprehensive spare parts program.
  • Identify and promote process efficiencies and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Follow all Quality Control requirements to ensure proper product quality is delivered to our customers and that "Customer Satisfaction is my job".
  • Meet FDA requirements, where applicable.
  • Assure compliance with all company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives .
  • Responsible for routine calibrations on various types of instruments including: gas monitors, pressure, temperature, process, level, flow, scales and analytical water quality instruments.
  • Troubleshoot process performance issues.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule and be available after-hours and on weekends.
  • Identify, prioritize, and schedule the performance of work tasks, and to plan work identified in the schedule to meet production needs, capital project schedules, and equipment maintenance / calibration schedules.
  • Evaluate and identify methods to achieve reliability of mechanical installations by ensuring robust installation standards, techniques and qualification methods, use of compliant systems and procedures, and adequate designs.
  • Self-directing and follows up on deficiencies identified from operational issues.
  • Identifies gaps in Plant/facility repairs and acts as an active team member in identifying appropriate solutions.
  • Clearly communicate issues and problems to vendors and others. Offer reliable solutions while considering code and safety concerns.
  • Participates in the resolution of reliability related operational, process, equipment and maintenance problems to prevent operational upsets.
