ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Polestar is looking for candidates to fill an Operations Specialist position to work as part of a team providing configuration management and lockout tagout services to a variety of active and inactive manufacturing facilities and laboratories. The team provides field support to the facility operations, engineering and maintenance organizations to establish the facility as-built condition, develop configuration management baselines and develop specific lockout tagout instructions for individual facility components.

Activities to be performed include:

• Develop work plans and schedules for walkdowns of manufacturing/laboratory facilities.
• Provide facility walkdown technical support.
• Perform pre-job safety briefs prior to facility walkdowns.
• Revise drawings with as-found conditions.
• Submit revisions for review, incorporate comments and prepare for approval.
• Review and approve facility drawing changes proposed by the team.
• Update and maintain master equipment list in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Develop lockout/tagout instructions for identified components per the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Hazardous Energy Control standard and facility procedures.
• Review and approve lockout/tagout instructions developed by others.

WORK LOCATION:

Work will be performed at the client site.

EDUCATION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• BS Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. A BS degree in a technical field can be substituted with 8 years of experience.
• 3-5 years of work experience.
• Demonstrates knowledge of applicable theories, practices and accepted procedures in a related field.
• Able to discuss technical problems with project personnel to facilitate resolution and determine course of action.
• Computer proficiency (word processing and spreadsheet software).
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to meet deadlines and complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to provide verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
• Must be a United States citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge and understanding of process, mechanical and/or electrical equipment operation.
• Experience working under a controlled hazardous energy (Lockout/Tagout) program including demonstrated experience issuing, installing and removing danger tags and locks.
• Experience interpreting and revising drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
