Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer for a nationwide logistics company with over 100 locations and thousands of independent-owner operator drivers providing services to include dedicated fleet-outsourcing, hot shot delivery, logistics, and courier.
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing daily operations to consistently achieve business goals and maximize profitability. The successful individual will be a self-motivated professional with strong operation skillset and excellent client relationships building skills. Will manage customer accounts, dispatchers, customer service representatives, driver routes, and all driver issues within the region. Recruits and engages with independent contractors. Prospects, presents, negotiates, and closes new business. Maintains and develops relationships with current customers, to include upselling additional services and getting referrals for potential opportunities. Gains a clear understanding of current business and service requirements for operations to support customer and meet expectations. Works in conjunction with Corporate accounting staff regarding customer invoicing, vendor payments and COG efficiency. Plans and oversees implementation of policies, procedures, and programs for all areas of operations. Maintains weekly reports for region and submits to the corporate office.

Background Required:
  • Transportation, Logistics, or Freight Forwarding (3-5 years)
  • Management & leadership experience (3 years)
  • Multimodal (e.g., FTL-LTL, Final Mile, Domestic Freight Forwarding, Hotshot, Expedite)
  • Business Plan implementation
  • Negotiations
  • Metrics measurements (e.g., pricing, delivery, costs, quality)
  • Computer Systems: Microsoft Office, CRM Systems, Logistics Systems, Mapping/Routing Software
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Residence: Dallas, TX
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management
  • Verticals: Furniture & Fixtures
  • Domestic Freight Forwarding operations, multiple sites, national level
