Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Operations Manager for a multi-state and regional truckload carrier handling both refrigerated and non-refrigerated freight. With over $170 million in revenue and 750 trucks, 1200 trailers, and 1000 employees operating from 5 terminals located in Greeley, Colorado; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Cactus, Texas; Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; and Oakwood, Georgia.

The Operations Manager manages all aspects of day-to-day operations of 45 trucks (20 finished goods tractors/non-sleeper, 25 raw material tankers), 160 trailers. Directs a $ 9 million dollar P&L. The goal is to work with the executive team to drive & deliver strong financial results & profitability. Leads 5 direct reports (safety manager, transportation manager, logistics manager, driver trainer, fleet services manager) and 55 indirect reports (mechanics, truck washers, drivers & a planner). Collaborates with General Manager at customer sites to deliver excellent customer service. Manages and maintains key performance indicators. Directs and oversees consistent application of all DOT regulations and FMCSA programs. Coaches, mentors, and develops team. Ensures procedures, processes, and systems are in place to securely maintain accuracy of all financials, safety, and operations information. Assures customer service levels are achieved, holding periodic performance meetings with customers. Is constantly attentive to growth opportunities. Maximizes the profitability of the business, ensuring desired performance achievement. Oversees the planning freight and directs route planning to prevent deadhead and maximize fuel and toll use across all divisions. Engages in continuous improvement of business processes in partnership with team members & management. Travel 10%.
