Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager of a family owned transportation and logistics provider serving a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, and building materials. With $103 million dollars in revenue ($8 million Asset, $95 million Brokerage) the company has 32 tractors, 80 trailers (72 dry van, 8 flatbed) operating from Lenexa, KS.

The Operations Manager responsible for the day-to-day operations for a terminal consisting of 32 company trucks, 80 trailers (72 dry van, 8 flatbed). Leads 3 direct reports (Fleet Coordinator, Load Planner, Dispatcher) and 28 indirect reports (drivers, 60% company drivers, 40% owner operators). Goal is to grow fleet to 40 trucks by the end of 2022: to 100 trucks in 2024. Provides strong leadership to all functions of the business and builds a “service/customer oriented” culture. Communicates and demonstrates this commitment to all customers. Evaluates current operational procedures and processes. Establishes new procedures and implement improvements where required. Thoroughly understands the route plan and executes on the trucking strategy with ability to communicate back to team. Oversees driver’s hours of service to insure daily and weekly compliance. Assist in achieving weekly KPI’s (miles, dead head, revenue, on time performance, equipment utilization and report as required). Oversees the operations team that monitors ETAs and PTAs to safely and profitably dispatch and direct drivers.
