Operations Manager- Manufacturing
Summary
We are seeking a hands-on leader with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities to oversee operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This role manages a group of supervisors responsible for the production and refurbishment of transformers. The Operations Manager is accountable for driving efficiency and ensuring the organization’s standards for safety, quality, productivity, and timely delivery are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute operational plans to meet division objectives.

Manage budgets and financial forecasts to support annual business goals.

Oversee employee orientation and training while supporting ongoing professional development.

Establish performance benchmarks and track results in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

Provide guidance and mentorship to supervisors, encouraging growth and teamwork.

Address staff issues related to duties, performance, and workplace interactions.

Champion continuous improvement projects to maximize productivity and reduce inefficiencies.

Monitor material usage and job costs in partnership with department supervisors.

Keep the VP/General Manager informed with regular operational updates.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and HR procedures, including corrective actions when necessary.

Represent the organization at industry functions to stay current on new technical trends.

Support customer needs and provide operational coverage during weekends or after-hours, as required.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; business degree with experience in transformer manufacturing may also be considered.

8–10 years of leadership experience in equipment manufacturing or equivalent background.

Previous responsibility for profit and loss, including budgeting, strongly preferred.

Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally within a manufacturing environment, is required.

Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and comprehensive background check.

Availability to work weekends or provide off-shift coverage when necessary.
