Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President, Waste Management for an international nuclear services company that is an industry leader in the safe recycling, processing, and disposal of nuclear material. They provide a full range of Decommissioning & Decontamination services to support & shut down nuclear power plants. They operate both a trucking & rail service that has 80 trucks, and 410 trailers that consists of flatbed, curtain-side, step deck, and triple axel trailers.
The Operations Director will oversee 3 terminals with 6 direct reports & 100 total employees. They will lead the Trucking Operations, including Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility, strategic planning, resource and asset management, operational oversight, technical and pricing input to proposals, and personnel management. The individual will be responsible for developing operational implementation scheduled for new business areas and provide input into the evaluation of new business while ensuring that all special projects are well planned and implemented. The goal of the position will be to operate the trucking operations to support the company’s internal operations (Decommissioning and Waste Management) and external customer to achieve profitability goals of the company and the profit center.

Background Required:
  • Trucking operations (10 years)

  • Driver recruiting, development & retentions (both company & O/O)
  • Fleet maintenance & management
  • Asset Management
  • Nuclear industry experience (10 years)
  • Safety, DOT, & FMCSA
  • Cost analysis
  • Eligible for DOE Clearance
  • Price bidding, proposals, negotiation, including business development
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Travel: up to 35%
