We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our hospital's dynamic surgical team. This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards of patient care and safety during surgical procedures. Ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of operating room protocols, with a strong commitment to maintaining a sterile environment and assisting surgical teams efficiently. Salary: DOE per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all operative procedures are conducted within established safety protocols.
- Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies for the surgical case.
- Assist the surgical team with the initiation of the surgical case, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures to prevent infection and complications.
- Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating needs and managing surgical tools.
- Collaborate with anesthetists to prepare patients for transfer to the Recovery Room, ensuring patient stability and readiness for post-operative recovery.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current New York RN license/registration.
- At least one year of experience in a hospital operating room setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Red Cross required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a high-volume surgical center preferred.
- Experience with the latest surgical technologies and equipment.
- Advanced certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Proven competence in operating room environments managing both elective and emergency cases.
