Operating Room Nursing Manager

Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Operating Room, ensuring efficient patient flow and strict adherence to established protocols.
  • Direct management of approximately 47 staff members, including 13 OR RNs, providing strategic leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Responsibly develop and manage the OR budget, focusing on optimal resource allocation, equipment procurement, and effective staffing strategies.
  • Formulate, implement, and monitor clinical standards of care and practice to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
  • Promote and enhance a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement within the OR environment.
  • Handle performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and other HR matters, ensuring professional conduct and high standards.
  • Address patient and physician concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and trust.
  • Participate in strategic planning and departmental development initiatives to foster growth and improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and advancements in OR nursing and management.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • At least 5 years of current or very recent full-time equivalent experience in an Operating Room capacity.
  • At least 3 years of full-time equivalent experience in an Operating Room Manager or Supervisor role, specifically within a hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is highly preferred.
  • Current Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
  • Prior experience managing in a unionized environment.
