Position Summary

The Data Product Owner – Online Client Experience leads the strategy and execution of data products that power a digital client platform, aligning business priorities, client expectations, and technical delivery. This position oversees the data product roadmap, collaborating across departments to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions that strengthen transparency, visibility, and client engagement.

The role requires a hands-on leader with advanced technical fluency in SQL and Python, deep understanding of data modeling, and familiarity with private markets and financial data structures. Working cross-functionally with Investor Relations, Operations, Marketing, Distribution, and Data Engineering, this person will play a key role in shaping a firmwide digital transformation strategy that connects data to meaningful client outcomes.

This position follows a hybrid work model offering flexibility in remote workdays per quarter, subject to manager approval.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of data products that enhance the digital client experience.

  • Define and own the roadmap for Online Client Experience data solutions, from MVPs through continuous releases.

  • Collaborate with business partners to define goals, requirements, and success metrics tied to client outcomes.

  • Translate business use cases into clear data product definitions, including sources, transformations, and field-level specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data standards, governance policies, and lineage documentation.

  • Manage the product backlog using agile tools (e.g., Azure DevOps), writing user stories and epics with technical precision.

  • Partner with engineering teams to integrate internal and external data into platforms such as Snowflake.

  • Communicate project progress, risks, and results to senior stakeholders and program leads.

  • Promote data quality and implement monitoring to maintain accuracy and reliability of client-facing datasets.

  • Support integrations with CRM, reporting, and digital platforms to improve investor visibility and engagement.

  • Collaborate across engineering, product, and commercial functions to align data strategy with business growth objectives.


Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

  • 7–12 years of experience in data product ownership, data strategy, or product management within financial services or private markets.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional data initiatives and deliver enterprise-grade data solutions.

  • Advanced SQL skills with strong Python experience preferred.

  • Deep understanding of private markets data structures, including LP/GP relationships, fund vehicles, evergreen products, and institutional reporting.

  • Knowledge of master data management (MDM), data governance, and entity resolution frameworks.

  • Experience translating business needs into technical specifications, data definitions, and acceptance criteria.

  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and backlog management.

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated success working with senior stakeholders.
