Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the International Operations Supervisor for an award winning global logistics organization with 30+ years’ experience delivering quality logistics services to clients worldwide. Our client has expanded throughout the US to 19 offices with over 100 global affiliate partners.
The Ocean Export Operations Agent is responsible for providing a high-level customer experience through the processing of ocean shipments on our client’s export team. In this role, you will prioritize, schedule and route shipments for ocean export transportation to include scheduling and arranging pickups, booking space with carriers and NVOCC’s, completing documentation and preparing rate quotes.

Background Required:
- Freight forwarding industry experience (1+ years)
- Strong knowledge of Ocean export product & requirements
- Knowledge of multimodal transportation (air, ocean, import, export, customs brokerage)
- Understanding of understanding of US Customs, TSA, and CTPAT regulations
- Experience negotiating rates with trucking companies, carriers, and overseas partners
- Excellent customer service skills
- New account start-up and implementation from A to Z
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
- Education: High school diploma
- Residence: commutable to Elkridge, MD
- Hazmat / Dangerous Goods certification
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Superior time management skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Strong work ethic
