OSP Fiber - Construction Crewman

Job Summary:
Seeking professional, reliable, and highly motivated individuals to assist on Fiber Aerial/Burial crew.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Bury service lines minimum 3’ to 6’ depth with hand trenching when required and with drop plows and boring capabilities
- Read and understand existing underground facility locates
- Identify and locate unmarked utilities
- Restore job site to the original condition
- Review all requested and existing services with the customer before installation of new lines
- Operate bore machines, excavators, skid steers, trenchers, vehicle, drop bury machine, hand tools, power tools, ladders, signal level meters, volt meters, converters, cable locators, leakage detection devices, other test equipment.
- Completes assigned tasks, required paperwork, timesheets, vehicle inspection, logs, noting any problems requiring attention of other staff members.
- Maintains a clean and organized company vehicle/equipment. Carries out all work efficiently and in the safest possible manner. Safety is a prime directive of all employees
- Assists other Team personnel in the performance of their duties when requested to promote a Team approach to problem solving environment.

Skills:
- Pass MVR, background and drug screen
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to work with heavy machinery
- Operator skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- CDL preferred
- Infrastructure/Construction experience preferred
- Experience with aerial and underground/burial in construction is a plus but not required
- Outdoor working experience

- Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind
- In proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles

Physical Demands:
- Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day
- Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of 50 pounds or more
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
Working Hours/Days: Full Time
- Monday through Friday
- Possible weekends
- Flexible schedule
- Overtime as needed
Travel Requirements:
- 50% travel required
- Overnight required as needed
